Temporary Fuel Surcharge Adjustment

There is significant volatility in aviation fuel prices due to global supply disruptions. In the last 3 weeks of the conflict in the Middle East, where a significant proportion of the world’s aviation fuel supply originates, the price of jet fuel jumped by 68%.

These are external factors that are not within the control of Rise Air.

Over many years, Rise Air has absorbed incremental increases in fuel and other external operating costs without passing those increases on to customers.

However, the recent and rapid escalation in fuel prices has reached a level that would be unsustainable to absorb.

As with other operators including Air Canada, Air Transat, Porter Airlines; Rise Air will be implementing a temporary fuel surcharge on all flights booked on or after Monday, March 30, 2026.
Temporary fuel surcharge details

$65 per passenger increase, on routes longer than 150 miles, including flights between Saskatoon / Prince Albert and northern communities, one-way.

$32 per passenger increase, on shorter routes, one-way.

This surcharge applies to all flights and all fare types, including discounted fares such as Student, Senior, Stand-by and with regret, the Marsi fares. All seats, for passengers over 2 years old, will be subject to the fuel surcharge.

Service continuity

At this time, Rise Air does not foresee any impact to service levels because of the spikes in the cost of aviation fuel. However, airlines around the world are already beginning to review operations to preserve fuel supplies where possible. Implementing this surcharge allows Rise Air to continue providing dependable service during this period of global uncertainty.

Our commitment to operating a safe, reliable, and sustainable air service for our customers remains paramount.

Adjustment to the fuel surcharge

We will continue to regularly monitor fuel prices and adjust the surcharge in line with the costs.
As you will appreciate, this is a rapidly changing situation, but we commit to you that any further adjustments will be communicated in advance.
